Loroy K Cheu

LoRoy Kaipo Cheu, born on October 9, 1934, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, at the age of 91. LoRoy was born and raised in Puʻunēnē, Maui. After graduating from Baldwin High School in Wailuku, Maui he earned his AA Degree at Bakersfield Community College and his BA Degree at San Jose State University. In 1955 LoRoy settled in San Jose with his wife, Amy and he worked throughout the United States in a corporate role for Boise Cascade Paper until he fully retired in 1998. During his retirement years he focused on his grandkids and volunteered at Yu Ai Kai in Japan Town with his friends.

LoRoy will be remembered for his sense of humor; his caring, sharing, and helping of others; and the thankfulness of living a full life with family and friends.

LoRoy is survived by his sons and daughter in laws; Steven and Susan, Stanley and Norma, Scott and Heather, grandchildren; Kai and Kiana, siblings; Danniel, Nani, and Mau. LoRoy is predeceased by his wife Amy and older sister Jinny.
