Louis Francisco Salazar Sr.

Louis F. Salazar Sr., 83, of Fernley, Nevada, passed away on August 1, 2026, with his family by his side. He was born on October 16, 1942, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Louis lived in San Jose, California, for many years before making Fernley his home for the past 31 years.

Louis proudly served in the United States Navy, carrying the discipline and pride of his service throughout his life. After leaving the Navy, he worked more than 30 years at FMC in San Jose, where he was known for his reliability and dedication. Upon relocating to Nevada, he continued his strong work ethic at Trex, where he spent over 20 years before retiring.

A passionate Harley Davidson enthusiast, Louis found joy in building, restoring, and working on motorcycles. His craftsmanship and love for the open road were central to who he was.

Louis is survived by his children: Leonore, Lena, Leticia, and Louis Jr. (wife Michelle); and by the children he lovingly raised from his previous marriage: Ernie, Ely, and Andrew Cervantes. He leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great‑grandchildren, who carry forward his strength, humor, and Salazar pride.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Luisa Salazar and stepdaughter Liz Cervantes.

Louis will be remembered for his loyalty, quiet presence, and the way he showed love through action. His legacy lives on in his family and in the motorcycles he crafted with care.

Services for Louis will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Lima Family Erickson Memorial Chapel, 710 Willow Street, San Jose.

Reception will held at 6:00 p.m. at The Centerra, 77 N. Almaden Avenue, San Jose CA 95110 - directly across the street from San Pedro Square.
