My tia was such a sweetheart.  As a little girl, I remember she loved to dress me up in my dresses, put my hair in “chongos” and paint my nails.

I love that our moms weren’t just sisters, they were besties.   And since my mom always took care of her, as her older sister of 2 years, it gives me peace to know that she welcomed to her in heaven and that they are together again.

My  Nina Lucy was a lovely soul that had a great smile and beautiful heart that was always full of love.   I remember spending many Summer days and nights with my  Nina when I was a child.  She would always try to have her three nieces (Luisa, Sandra & I) over at least a few times during the Summer.  Nina Lucy would spoil and pamper all of us with treats and gifts and even bought us identical cute pink "onesies" pajamas which made us look like triplets.  When  I was turning 15 and getting ready for my Quinceniera, she let me know she was very happy to be my primary godmother, because she had always longed to have a daughter.  When I married my husband at the courthouse, she provided an intimate "wedding day" party for us in her home. Then, 6 months later, she let me use her home again to get ready for my wedding at church.  When I think back, I realize how much she was there for me during pivotal moments of my life.  l have so many wonderful memories of my Nina Lucy and I will always remember and miss her through these cherished memories.💙   As a mother, I would like to add that I think my cousin Alex has been an example of a loving son that has gone above and beyond societies expectations to provide his mother the love, care and assistance she needed during her entire illness.  I know my Nina Lucy loved all four of her loving sons, but I am in such awe of my cousin Alex,  who is a "one of a kind" son that always loved and took care of my Nina Lucy day and night.  I truly feel that he is the main reason why my Nina Lucy graced us with her presence for so long.  Not many sons can or are able to provide such devotion, patience and care to another person, especially their mother.  My Nina Lucy was truly very lucky to have the love of so many loved ones all of these years.  I am happy that she will now be able to rest in peace and be reunited with her husband, parents, siblings and other loved family members in heaven.  I will always love and miss you, Nina Lucy. 💙

Mama Luz was the best mother ever . I was her personal Respiratory Therapist and goes over to her house to change the trach tube, in all her pains and other things going on in her life, she will always put up an infectious smile , I mean her smile was infectious to anyone closer to her or visited her. She displayed the same manner when she was in our hospital- Resilience is the key word and I thank Fox she has awesome children that took good care of her till the end, especially Alex who stood behind her till her last breathe, Alex was the Doctor , Therapist and home care manager who took over, infact from the hospital to her home , providing services that are Bryon his knowledge .
I will greatly miss Mama Luz. May the Lord rest her gentle soul and provide comfort to her family.
