Manuel passed away after an extended illness caused by complications of diabetes and congestive heart failure. He was the third of eight siblings and outlived them all. He was a very strong man even into his nineties.
He married Orphelinda Montejano on March 20, 1948. She passed away on July 31, 1981. Thirty-one years later he joined her in Heaven.
They had three children. Manuel is survived by: daughter Esther De La Rosa (Gilbert) and their children, Veronica and Juan Carlos; son Manuel M. Sandoval (Yolanda) and their children Manny, Olivia, Daniel, and Silvia; daughter-in-law Tammy Sandoval and her daughters Ande and Amanda. His youngest child, David Sandoval, who passed away on June 26, 2007, sadly preceded him in death. He also leaves behind one great-granddaughter Harper Wren.
Manuel worked at Del Monte Cannery in San Jose for over 30 years as a forklift driver. He provided well for his family. He was very proud that all three of his children graduated from college and was quick to admit, “Your mother did a good job with you guys.”
Memorial Service for him will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Oak Hill Funeral Home’s Chapel of Roses, 300 Curtner Ave, San Jose, CA 95125.
