Maria F. Airoso

Maria was the beloved daughter of the late Francisco Machado Cota and Guilhermina De Jesus Teixeira Cota. She was the devoted wife of the late José Vieira Airoso, with whom she shared 62 beautiful years of marriage before his passing on April 19, 2020.

Maria began her life in the Açores and later immigrated with her husband to Angola, where they started their family. In 1977, they made a new home in California, where she worked for many years at National Semiconductor in Santa Clara, CA.

Maria is survived by her two loving sons, José Hildeberto Airoso and his wife Belina, and Carlos Alberto Airoso and his wife Rose. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren — Kristina Taveira and her husband Brian, Justin Airoso and his wife Patricia, Andrew Airoso, and Kelsey Airoso — as well as her adored great-grandchildren Lacie Taveira, Marcio Taveira, and Makenzie Airoso.

Maria is also survived by her siblings, José Machado Cota and his wife Elvira, and Gina Cardoso and her late husband Antonio. She was predeceased by her brother Antonio Machado Cota and his late wife Mercês, and is lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Maria was full of life and joy, always happy to see everyone who came through her door. She found great happiness tending to her garden and fruit trees, which she loved dearly. Above all, she treasured her family and friends, who brought her endless joy and comfort.

Maria will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and love that touched all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished in our hearts.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at Willow Glen Funeral Home, 1039 Lincoln Ave, San Jose, CA. A Funeral Mass at 12:30 p.m. at St. Clare Parish, 725 Washington St, Santa Clara, CA, followed by Burial at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, 490 Lincoln St, Santa Clara, CA.
