Maria Soto-Aguilera

The Youngest of 8 children, Maria immigrated to the United States with her family where She graduated from San Jose high school in 1973.

Maria and Pedro Aguilera Pina met as children growing up in the neighborhood. They were married on 12/26/1975 in San Luis Potosi, MX. Together they raised 3 children: Melinda, Juan Carlos and Paul Albert.

She worked at the Del Monte Cannery until it closed in 1999. She later worked at STA (Student Transportation of America) and lastly at Royal Coach as a driver and retired from Royal Coach in 2024.

She enjoyed gardening, spending time with her family and grandchildren. She loved going shopping with her granddaughters. She enjoyed going out to eat Sushi and Mexican food and Banana Split ice cream from Baskin Robins.

Maria is survived by her children: Melinda, Juan, and Paul. Her Grandchildren: Sophia and Ava Gamino and Aria Aguilera. Her sisters Felicitas Torres and Sylvia Arriaga. Her brothers Miguel Angel Soto and Gilberto Soto.

Visitation for Maria will be held Monday, May 5, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Willow Glen Funeral Home, 1039 Lincoln Ave, San Jose, CA 95125. A Rosary service will occur Monday, May 5, 2025 from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM. A Funeral Mass will by held Tuesday, May 6, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Peace Church & Shrine, 2800 Mission College Blvd, Santa Clara, CA 95054. Committal services will occur Tuesday, May 6, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Oak Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 300 Curtner Ave, San Jose, CA 95125.
