Preceded in death by her husband Cosme Perez (1966) and survived by her sons Hector, Miguel, Leo, Jose Luis, Cosme (sadly deceased 12/30/20), Jesse, Paco, Carlos, Julio, and daughter Angelica plus respective families; 26 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
Doña Maria had her first child at age 21 and the last one at 38, thereafter, her mission of survival love and protection for her family became top priority and continued until her last breath… commitment beyond belief! She became an empty nester at age 52 and chose not to marry or date, as in her words “the relationship would take precedence over her children’s.”
Doña Maria also lovingly took care of her mother “Mama Inez” until she passed at age 92. Her greatest joy and pastime were to cook and to have us all around. Her home was always full of love, laughter, and an abundance of food; she created the memories that have shaped us and made us who we are.
We mourn the loss of our Matriarch and her legacy of love, compassion, and commitment will live throughout her bloodline.
