Our beautiful, loving mother and grandmother went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, November 25, 2024, at the age of 90. She is survived by her three daughters, Karen Ward (Lee), Elaine Benson and Lisa Villasenor, her grandson, Marco Villasenor, and her brother, Ed Newton (Patti). She was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd Benson, her brother, Jack Newton, and her parents, Aaron and Alice Newton.
Marlene had a zest for life, right up to the very end. She always put her family first, loving them unconditionally, cherishing their happiness and lighting up in their presence. Her poise, intuition, creativity, love of fun, exquisite fashion sense and signature red lipstick will be fondly remembered. Her presence in our lives will be deeply missed. We loved her so.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park in San Jose.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Marlene’s honor may be made to the local Salvation Army, one of her valued charities.
