Mary De Los Angeles Ayala

April 7, 1942November 16, 2019

Mary “Plata” De Los Angeles Ayala, a self made real estate mogul of Willow Glen, CA, passed away on Saturday, November 16th, 2019 with her daughters, close family and loved ones by her side.

Mary was a resident of Willow Glen for over 60 years. She was wed, had two children, but was widowed soon after. She worked in the cannery and slowly invested in property. As the years went on she learned the trade of property management and real estate. She was not one to succumb to a challenge and used her savvy business intuition to create a foundation for herself and her children. Mary remarried and had four more children as the years went on.

Mary was a daughter, mother, grandmother and friend. Family and family traditions were important to her. She enjoyed helping others and was proud of her Mexican roots. She loved vacationing at her home in San Felipe, Mexico, walking the beach and embracing the morning sun. On any given day you may have found her at a neighboring yard sale, making conversation with a new friend, attending one of her grandchildren’s sporting events or walking the Willow Glen High School track.

Mary was a devout Catholic but embraced all faiths and people. One of her many quotes was, “Only ask and you shall receive.” She was a woman who broke down barriers and was never afraid to ask questions and challenge people. She also showed an abundance of kindness and generosity towards those in need. In her final months she was surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed having a nice cold beer and listening to rancheras. She was a stunning woman inside and out, who could change the mood of a room with only her presence. Rest is eternal paradise Mary, you were and forever will be loved and cherished by all those who had the pleasure of knowing you.

Mary is survived by her five daughters; Jessica Ultreras Ruiz, Angelica Ultreras-Ortiz, Marissa Simon, Kristina Hagan, Deborah Duran, and only beloved son, Roy Ayala, her seventeen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and a number of loving relatives, and close friends.
