Lynne was born March 22, 1961 in San Pedro, California to Paul A. Smith and Kathryn McGee Smith. She attended St. Christopher School and graduated from Presentation High School in San Jose. Lynne continued her education at local colleges.
Lynne worked for the County of Santa Clara at Valley Medical Center for 25 years, her last 15 as a supervisor in the Radiology Department. She cared deeply about her patients and the importance of caring for the less fortunate. She loved all those who worked for and with her, bringing joy, enthusiasm, and much laughter to the workplace. Lynne retired from the County in June 2016.
Lynne enjoyed traveling, visiting Ireland, Alaska, Mexico, and Hawaii with her family. She enjoyed golf and running and completed two New York City Marathons and shorter races in San Francisco and Capitola. Lynne loved the beach and was always ready to drive “over the hill” to Santa Cruz. She enjoyed reading especially mysteries and, of course, saw every episode of Law and Order. She adored her dogs, Spike and Maggie.
Lynne’s great sense of humor will be missed. She took special joy in making her family and friends laugh out loud.
Lynne is preceded in death by her son, Ryan Lowe, who was her pride and joy and by her parents.
Lynne will be sorely missed by her six loving siblings, Janet MacMillan (James MacMillan), Pamela Smith, Patti Penski (Frank Penski), Nancy Smith (David Rockwell), Kathy Smith, and Paul (Tony) Smith, Fred and Freddy Ramos, her many loving nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grandnephews and her McGee and Smith cousins.
The Smith family thanks Lynne’s many friends for their years of support, including George Purdy, who assisted Lynne as her health failed.
