On November 14, 2018, Miguel B. Banzon, peacefully passed away surrounded by family and loved ones at the age of 86. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. One of 8 children, Miguel was born on April 2, 1932, in Balanga, Bataan, Philippines to Gonzalo and Florentina Banzon.
Miguel graduated from Far Eastern University in the Philippines with a degree in banking and finance. On January 6, 1957, he married Fe Castro. Together, they raised two sons, Allan and Manny, and three daughters, Angeli, Aileen, and Marife. In April of 1979, the family moved from the Philippines to California, taking up residence in San Jose. He worked for over 20 years in the electronic industry.
Miguel had a passion for food including planting vegetables and cooking for his family; his specialty was kare-kare. He also enjoyed watching 49ers football and going to his favorite place: casinos.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Fe; 2 siblings, Manuel and Marietta; 5 children, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone he interacted with. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
