Min Zhang, a beloved company director and cherished family man, passed away suddenly at the age of 63. Born on August 18, 1961, Min (or Michael) lived a life of intellectual and career achievements. He was remarkably multifaceted and brought joy to every room he entered. His legacy of integrity, kindness, and wisdom will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Min earned his first PhD in theoretical physics from Fudan University in Shanghai in 1988. His passion for discovery and his drive for excellence led him to the University of Cincinnati, where he earned a second PhD in 1995 in electrical and computer engineering.
Over the course of his distinguished career, Min made significant contributions to his field - working at leading companies such as Actel, Motorola, and finally, TSMC, his second family for nearly 24 years.
Min was someone who always put others first and treated every person with dignity. His character and work ethic were admired and respected by his colleagues.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Min will be remembered for his spirited humor, grit, generosity, and devotion to his family. He is survived by his wife and love of his life, Peiqing, and his daughter, Sherry.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024 at the Lima Erickson Memorial Chapel in San Jose, California.
