I only knew Nolan for about 6 months, but I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to know him.  We met when we both joined the recreational Siege team for the university, and he was a wonderful friend to play games with and talk to online.  Our team went through a lot of hard losses, but Nolan was always cracking jokes and kept the team looking forward.  In fact, his positivity was so contagious that our opponents would often join in when we were joking around, and it made the whole experience more enjoyable for everyone involved.  I distinctly remember one match when we had to wait a long time before the game started.  Some players on both our team and the other team were starting to get frustrated with the wait, but Nolan found his own fun and started hopping back and forth between the two teams on the menu.  His laugher was contagious, and it didn't take long before everyone in the match was switching teams and laughing along with him.  We got so caught up in goofing around that we didn't even start the match until quite a bit later than we had intended to.  If it hadn't been for Nolan, we probably would have sat there in silence for the entire wait.  Instead, he took the situation and made it into an experience that I still remember today.  Nolan was the type of person that could consistently make me laugh and enjoy myself even when I was feeling down, and I will forever cherish my memories with him.  Nolan spread so much joy during his life, and I couldn't be more proud to call him my friend.

On June 31st, 2020 I reached out to Nolan over Discord to have him try out for the Rainbow Six: Siege team at the University of Tulsa. It took some time, but we eventually got a tryout set up on August 17th, 2020. We hopped into a voice call together and got to know each other a bit before going on with the tryout. We talked for quite a while and I could just tell he was one of those guys who always has a smile on their face.  After we talked, I gave him the tryout and we decided that the recreational Rainbow Six: Siege team was more suited for him. Thinking back on this decision, I am glad he was on the recreational team since he got to have fun. When the recreational team had finally formed, Nolan got to meet and play with five other members of the team.  Just looking at the team chat, I could tell he was having a good time.


A few months passed and the recreational team didn't quite make playoffs. The recreational team activities had started to come to a halt and Nolan was just itching to play Siege with some friends.  I joined him for some casual games and learned that he liked anime and gacha games. On March 28th, 2021 I invited him to the University of California San Diego's Rainbow Six: Siege Discord server where he got to meet plenty of others with the same interests as him.  Each day he would interact with some of the members of the server, whether it be playing Siege or talking about anime. I am glad I was able to introduce him to a welcoming community before he left.

Nolan was truly a great person and an even greater friend. For every interaction I had with him, whether it be through messages or voice chat, I could tell he was always smiling. 

My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, I only wish them the best.

I did not know Nolan very well, but I met him several times playing Magic and played on the Siege B Team with him. The memories I shared with him are all memories I’m very fond of, and I will treasure them for the rest of my life. He will be very missed.

I still remember the day when I learned that he passed... The shock pales in comparison to the regret I have that I didn't know him as well as I wish. From the memories that were shared from his loved ones, I can tell he was an incredible soul -- intelligent, kind, giving. I hope his soul finds peace, and my heart goes out to his family and loved ones. I know he will be missed greatly. 

I recently started to play with Nolan for a little on AMQ, I didn’t get to know him too well as I recently started to talk to him but he was always kind to me. I could tell he was an amazing guy. Every time that I’ll look at my friends list, I’ll always remember what a great guy he was, and how kind he was. May he rest in peace, and my prayers go to his family who are in tough times.

I haven't had the chance to talk to him yet, but the news was still devastating. He was a fellow AMQ tournament player in our tier, and I remember very well the last message he sent in the discord server.
May he rest in peace, and I pray that his family is doing well in these hard times. 

I met Nolan in 2019 through his cousin. He made our Dairy Latte server on Discord. While I can't say that I know Nolan well, he has always been pleasant during our encounters. I am terribly sorry for the sudden loss of this intelligent and generous young man. It's still unreal to me how he's no longer here with us since it seemed like yesterday that he was still on Discord. Once again, I offer my deepest condolences.

I met Nolan in 2019 online. While I did not know him as long as some others may have, I knew him long enough to learn that he was an amazing; friend, had a positive and upbeat personality, was an excellent leader, and new how to light up a room. I would be remiss if I did not take the time to say Nolan as a founding member of the community, I am apart of, affected thousands of people and continues to grow even today as it connects to other players around the world. It is with a heavy heart that I write this, but I wished to share that this young man touched and made many lives better for his efforts.

I met Nolan on September 14 2018 online. He was looking for a guild in a game and I happened to be a guild master. He took to the game quickly and was a rather enjoyable person to play with. Sometimes a bit much but all in all, good. Since then,  he had been a central part in growing our guild and absolutely of utmost help in the community. I cannot express how sorry I am for you loss. He was a truly good kid and I do not know how to explain it to you how much he was appreciated in our virtual world. I have never met him in person but I cannot help but shed a few tears for this young man when I heard what happened. I thought you would like to know how much he enjoyed gaming with us and how much the community will miss him. I do not wish to intrude upon your grief any longer. My deepest condolences and thank you for taking the time to read this.
