Pam was born in Kaptai, Bangladesh to C. Frederick and Patricia Moore Burlee, who were on international assignment at the time. The family returned to the US and settled down in San Mateo, but were off again to assignments in Spain during Pam's school years. Pam graduated from Baleares International School in Palma de Mallorca in 1975, then returned to the States to start college at San Jose State University, which she attended for several years. During this time, she and Cathy had the chance to spend a winter break in Guatemala, where Pam's parents were on another overseas assignment. They were happy to survive the scorpions and the howling monkeys in the nearby jungle.
During a sabbatical from college due to chicken pox, Pam began working at Bank of America as a walk up teller and never looked back. She enjoyed a long and successful career in banking, both at BofA and more recently at Wells Fargo. She made many lifelong friends there.
Above all else, Pam enjoyed reading. She was never without a book to read. She also enjoyed travelling, movies, and going out to eat with her many friends. Pam was a kind and thoughtful friend who was always there for others. Her wicked sense of humor, lively spirit, and gentle personality will be greatly missed.
Pam is survived by her sister, Lynn Burlee, of San Jose, and cousins JJ, Dave, Steve, Chris, and Mike. Longtime close friends Cathy & Cecil, Brian, Paula & Elena, Liz, and Neil & Tom also mourn her, as do her many friends and coworkers.
Inurnment will be private, but please join us for a Celebration of Pam's life on June 26th. Please email [email protected] for details.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Bay Area Cancer Connections, 2335 El Camino Real, Palo Alto, 94306 would be gratefully accepted.
