80, of 241 So. Jackson Ave.,
San Jose, Ca. passed softly and tenderly to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at 8:10 in the morning, Tuesday, January 15th, in Hospice care at San Jose Regional Medical Center. Patsy Ruth Hale was born, December 11, 1938 in Guthrie, Oaklahoma, the only child of Tom and Allie Hale. In 1941, the young family joined the dust bowl migration west to California, with Tom joining the Army and stationed mainland in the Oakland shipyards during WWII due to his young family. Post-war, the family set down roots in the beachtown of Santa Cruz, where Tom drove a bus and read meters for the city. Patsy grew up to be a beautiful, soft spoken teenager who taught Sunday school at the First Methodist Church, was a finalist for Capitola begonia queen and developed a deep, schoolgirl crush on a young Elvis Presley that lasted a lifetime. Then, in her senior year, a rough and tumble Oklahoma boy, named Johnny, Straight out of the lettuce sheds of Watsonville, swept her off her feet at the Coconut Grove Ballroom, and told her, ”you need to break up with that guy, because I’m going to merry you!”
One month later,
He did.
A new job as a Brakeman on the Southern Pacific Railroad and a brand new 3-bedroom home in San Jose provided a solid foundation to raise their 3 children; John David, Janet Lynn and Kelly Thomas. It was a house filled with laughter and love, church and music, little league and marching band, grand parents and neighbor kids, Fishing, softball and long summer camping trips to every corner of the far west. All anchored by loving and supportive grand parents, a hard-working
father and Patsy’s loving spirit and non-wavering, life-long devotion to Jesus, guiding and instructing her entire life. After the kids left the nest, Patsy joined the workforce as a grocery store cashier and loved meeting new people and spreading the ”Good News.”
A breast cancer survivor who defied the odds multiple times, during her final year's, Patsy found her new spiritual home and family at the Cathedral of Faith Church in San Jose. Patsy enjoyed visiting her kids, Grand Daughters and her six Great-Grand Children and of course, taking road trips with her life-long sweetheart, because love is a long road and it never ends.
Patsy is survived by her husband of 61 years, John W. Aynes of San Jose. Children; John D.
