

Paulina Valdez Diaz was known as many things to many people. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Paulina will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
Paulina was born on December 11, 1939 in Monte Morelos, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. She was the daughter of Arnulfo Valdez and maria De la Luz Perez. Paulina grew up in Monte Morelos, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
Paulina was raised with nine siblings named, Erasmo, Jose Luis, Lucinda, Omero, Florinda, Santos, Ernesto and Juan. Paulina was usually involved in all sorts of activities with her siblings. She and her siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.
Always considered a “good” friend to those she knew, Paulina enjoyed a broad group of acquaintances and several very close friends during her lifetime. Later in life, she became friends with Rosie Fong, Carmen Arrendondo, Petra Diaz, and Emma Flores.
On December 1, 1960 Paulina exchanged wedding vows with Robert Diaz in a civil marriage in Monte Morelos, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Empathic and loyal, Paulina was committed to making her new family happy.
Paulina worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs. Paulina was blessed with four children, two sons, Robert and Ricardo, and two daughters, Rosa, and Raquel. Another blessing for Paulina was the gift of five grandchildren, Alissa, Lindsay, Jaimie, Jennifer, and Ariana.
Fortunately, Paulina enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Paulina worked diligently and did her best to succeed. Her primary occupation was as a homemaker. Paulina always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Paulina enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. Her favorite pursuits were playing Super Lotto, poker, and going to the casinos. She was content to enjoy her favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share her interests with others.
Paulina’s faith was important to her. She was a Catholic and was a member at St. John Vianney for 4 years and Guadalupe Church for 20 years.
Paulina enjoyed traveling and time away on vacations. It was a chance for her to renew and relax, to visit new places and experience new things. Favorite vacations included going back to her homeland (Mexico) and Hawaii.
Paulina was a lover of animals and cherished her pets. One of her favorites was Max, a Chihuahua dog. They were best friends for 11 years.
Paulina passed away on December 28, 2011 in San Jose, California due to heart disease. She is survived by her children Robert, Ricardo, Rosa, and Raquel; and her grandchildren Alissa, Jaimie, Lindsay, Jennifer, and Ariana. Services were held at Oak Hill Funeral Home in the Chapel of the Oaks in San Jose, California. Paulina was laid to rest in Oak Hill Memorial Park in San Jose, California.
Simply stated, Paulina was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Paulina leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Paulina Valdez Diaz.
