Peggy Marie Stamp Fry of San Jose, CA died peacefully on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at the age of 82. She was preceded in death by her eldest son, Chris, and her husband of 47 years, Bill Fry. The oldest of three children, Peggy was born September 28, 1936, in Riverside, CA to Wade Stamp and Christine Mitchell. Peggy grew up in Campbell, CA, graduating from Campbell High School in 1954. She went on to study Interior Design, receiving her degree in 1959 from San Jose State University.
She married Bill Fry in June 1962, and the family settled in East San Jose and had six children. Peggy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was strong-willed and dedicated to her community. She volunteered much of her time to Most Holy Trinity Church, Mt. Pleasant Elementary School District, and to the Pala Rancho Cabana Club and its swim team.
Peggy was a creative artist in many aspects of her life. She was a painter, an avid gardener, an architectural drawer, and a model builder. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Peggy is survived by her two sisters, Nancy Stamp and Linda Vaianisi (Anthony), and by her children Melissa, Sean, Heather, Kelly (Danielle), Shannon (Vincent), daughter-in-law Ramona, nine grandchildren, and a great-grandchild due this summer.
Services will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 4600 Hyland Avenue, San Jose, CA 95127. Reception to follow at the Pala Rancho Cabana Club, 2239 Vista Verde Drive, San Jose, CA 95148.
