

August 28, 2021, surrounded by friends and family. He was born in Zakynthos, Greece
to Ioannis and Anastasia Maroudas. He had 6 siblings, Paraskevi, Maria, Eleni,
Mavrodis, Dionysios and Veroniki. He came to the United States where he met and
married his wife of 49 years, Josephine who preceded him in death, July 2008. He
worked in the restaurant industry for 65 years owning numerous restaurants, with
his pride and joy being the Longhouse Restaurant in Gilroy, California which he has
owned with his nephew Danny Maroudas for the last 45 years. He could not stand
to see someone suffering or in need without trying to help.
He is survived by one sister, Maria Maroudas: four daughters, Tasia Simmons and her
husband Larry Simmons, Marie Hofland and her husband D. Hofland, Angela Maroudas,
Diane Davis and her husband Chris Davis; four grandchildren, Alyssa Simmons,
Jennifer Simmons, Ashley Davis, Nicholas Davis and many more relatives and friends
in both the United States and Greece.
The family is indebted to Pete’s support team at Heartland Hospice and his caregivers
from NexGen.
A prayer service will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, from 7:00pm – 8:30pm at
St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church at 1260 Davis Street, San Jose, CA 95126. The funeral
will occur on Thursday, September 23, 2021, from 10:00am – 11:00am at St. Nicholas Greek
Orthodox Church at 1260 Davis Street, San Jose, Ca 95126. A committal service will immediately
follow the funeral service at Oak Hill Memorial Park at 300 Curtner Avenue in San Jose, CA from 11:30am-12:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made in Pete’s memory to St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church.
