Purificacion Sarmenta Mendoza, age 89, of San Jose, CA, died of natural causes on March 24, 2026.
Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Purificacion (“Purie”) Sarmenta Mendoza was born in the Philippines on Dec 26, 1936, to Dioscoro and Paulina Sarmenta. She moved to California in 1974 and petitioned for her parents and children to follow. She retired from Agnews State Hospital, where she worked as a licensed vocational nurse.
She is survived by two daughters, one son, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, seven sisters, and one brother.
