Raquel Rachel Andrea Cortez

Born in San Francisco on August 7, 1950 and passed peacefully into heaven on July 30, 2012 at home with her husband by her side. Rachel is a graduate of Camden High School and was a loyal employee of Oak Hill Funeral Home. Rachel will be missed by all and is loved by many. She leaves behind her loving husband of 38 years Antonio G. Cortez, daughters Diane Jackson, Sofia Vallez and Eleanor Cortez and sons Ralph, Antonio and Frank Cortez; son in law Diffric and daughters in law Sally and Andie. Very proud and loving "Mija" to Ezra, Damien, Jazmyn, Devilin, Isaiah, Elijah, Dominic and Emma. Sister to Dinah Garcia and Christina Campos. She was welcomed into heaven by her parents Amado and Emma Zuniga and sister Korie Zuniga.

Rachel will be remembered by her love for family, acts of kindness, giving nature and amazing cooking, there was never an empty belly if Rachel was around.

The family asks in lieu of flowers, please make donations in her honor to American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.

Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 7th, 2012 at 2:00pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park, Chapel of the Roses, San Jose, CA.
