

Reynaldo Lauengco Maninang joined our Lord and the heavenly angels on Sunday, October 6th 2019 at 5:20 PM in San Jose, CA at age 83. In his last moments, he was surrounded and comforted by his wife, Lydia, his children Maria, Rey and Leslye, sons and daughter in-laws Dino, Sarah and Nate and his pride and joy the grandchildren, Candis, Nikka, Anthony, Rey Mathew, Austin, Aidan, Jayden, Jackson and Parker. Reynaldo was born in Manila, Philippines on August 1st, 1936 and soon after he married his true love, Lydia, they immigrated to the United States in April 1968 with his children Maria and Rey in the pursuit of building a better life for his family. Leslye completed the family when she joined them in 1978. Although he earned his Medical Degree in Optometry in the P.I., he immediately enrolled in Fine Arts majoring in Advertising at University of Santo Tomas, P.I., where he obtained a second degree to fulfill his career passion as an Artist. He was instrumental in increasing the visual brand of the Yellow Pages and General Electric’s Nuclear division. Reynaldo retired from the private sector with Exidy where he designed cabinet graphics for video arcade machines that were distributed world-wide. He was also an upstanding member of the local business community as he owned and operated a gas station franchise for the Shell Oil Company for many years. Besides his family, he was passionate about photography and world travel as he visited more than 30 countries around the globe.
The visitation viewing will be held at Oak Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park on Monday, October 14th from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM followed the next day with a catholic mass beginning at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Refuge Church. Following the mass, the burial will be held at Oak Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park at 11:30 AM. The Maninang family welcomes all of Reynaldo’s friends and relatives to join them for lunch at Tomi Sushi & Seafood Buffet located at 2200 Eastridge Loop in San Jose. The Maninang family would like to thank everyone for their words of support and extension of love.
The family is requesting that guests come dressed in white for Reynaldo's Celebration of Life on Tuesday October 15th, 2019.
