Mr. Richard Alan Davis

Richard (Rick) Davis, a longtime resident of San Jose, CA was born in Omaha, NE. He left his loving family peacefully on Wednesday morning, March 17, 2021. He is survived by sister Allison Davis and brothers, Bob (Lori) and Jim Holmes. His older brother, Jack F. Jr. (Marvel) Davis preceded him in passing along with his parents Jackson F. Sr., Lucille Davis and nephew Chad Wright.

He enjoyed spending time with his many nieces and nephews; Salene (Dave) Duarte, Darlene (Ryan) O’Neil, Anthony and Celia Rosenthal , Nicole (Sean) Agee, Courtney Holmes and Kia (Dave) Gast. His great nieces and nephews; Ashley and Kyle Jordan, Payton Duarte, Logan and Luke Wright, Cara and Colby O’Neil, Leah and Mari Gast, Parker and Mackenzie Agee brought joy to his life.

Rick went to Camden High School and studied at West Valley College. He honorably served in the United States Air Force from August 1972 to June 1977 as a Cook. He recently retired from a longtime career as Chef for Sacred Heart Jesuit Center in Los Gatos where the Priests enjoyed his gracious service, generosity, “10 star” food prepared with great skill and care.

Rick loved Harley Davidson, sports cars and his Bay Area sports teams, the San Francisco Giants, 49ers Golden State Warriors and San Jose Sharks. His family enjoyed his fabulous cooking during many momentous and treasured gatherings. He was a warm, calm presence that was always in for a good joke too!

Services will be held in the Great Mausoleum Iris Court at Oak Hill Memorial Park, 300 Curtner Avenue, San Jose, CA on Monday, August 9, 2021 at 11:30am.
