

Mr. Richard Franklin Rapacchietta passed away on June 14, 2014 in Fremont, California. Arrangements under the direction of Oak Hill Funeral Home in San Jose, California. Vigil was held Sunday June 22, 2014. Funeral Mass held at St. Victor's Church in San Jose, California on June 23, 2014 immediately followed by his burial at Oak Hill Cemetery. After a long fight with cancer Richard Rapacchietta returned to heaven on June 14, 2014. A week early Richard caught a bacterial infection that he was unable to fight off because of his compromised immune system resulting from chemo and radiation treatments. Richard was the young age of 62 years old when he died. Richard died at 10:42 p.m. at Kaiser in Fremont, California surrounded by family and friends.
Richard is survived by his two sons; Ryan and Ian, his daughter; Andrea, and three granddaughters; Samantha, Veronica, and Madison. Richard also had another son Brian who predeceased him. Richard had many other family member who loved him his mother Jean Rapacchietta, his father Richard James Rapacchietta (deceased), his sister Gail Rapacchietta, brothers Bob and Jim Rapacchietta. His nieces Jennifer, Monica, Kristy, Jessica, Stephanie, and Isabella. His nephews Benny, Brian, Daniel, and Dante. His great niece Cassandra and great-great nephew Adrian. His ex-wife Diane. His best friend Faina.
Richard loved more than anything his family. Richard spent as much time as he could with his family. We was the head of the family and held everyone together. Richard taught the rest of the family how to love and how work hard. Richard was the one who guided the family and counseled the family. Richard was a great father and papa.
Richard worked for Santa Clara County as a database administrator manager for over 35 years. He was a humbled public servant and took pride in serving his community. Richard served as Vice-President of CEMA the management union. He lead numerous union negotiations. At work Richard was well like and respected.
Richard was a very loving and nurturing individual. He would always take care of others especially his family before he took care of himself. Richard although sometimes kept to himself was a very caring individual and was very kind to people. Richard loved to sing and dance but usually only in private. Richard loved to look his best. He always took time to make sure his hair looked great. Richard liked to dress nicely and often wore suits.
Richard will greatly be missed by all his friends and family.
