

Robert was born in Laoac, Pangasinan, Philippines. He immigrated to Guam, USA with his parents and siblings in 1960, where he attended John F. Kennedy High School. He earned a degree in Radio and Electronic Engineering from Feati University, Manila, Philippines in 1974. He then served in the US Navy for four years. In 1979, Robert moved to San Jose, California with his wife and children and worked at Hewlett-Packard as an Electronic Technician for 15 years.
Robert lived life to the fullest. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, cousin, uncle, and friend. He loved listening to music, particularly The Beatles, Pink Floyd, and Led Zeppelin, and playing Guitar Hero. He enjoyed watching football games and was an avid fan of the SF49ers. He loved nature and enjoyed camping trips throughout California and Nevada with his family and friends.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Concepcion “Ching” F. Paeste, two children and their spouses, Michelle Paeste Mendoza & Steven Perez Mendoza, and Robert Leganor Paeste, Jr. & Marjorie Dizon Paeste; four grandsons, Elijah Joseph Paeste Mendoza, Isaiah Jaden Paeste Mendoza, Jeremiah Paeste Mendoza, and Noah Paeste Mendoza; and one granddaughter, Maree Noelle Dizon Paeste.
He is additionally survived by relatives and friends from California, Guam, Hawaii, Nevada, Texas, Canada, and the Philippines.
Robert is predeceased by his parents, Tranquilino Valle Paeste & Maria Salud Leganor Paeste; brothers, Wilfredo Leganor Paeste & Bobby Leganor Paeste; parents-in-law, Elpidio Cabradilla Felipe, Sr. & Rufina Manuel Felipe; grandparents, Ignacio & Jacoba Paeste, and Gregorio & Tomasa Leganor.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 26, 2021, at the Sunshine Chapel, Oak Hill Funeral Homes and Memorial Park (300 Curtner Avenue, San Jose, CA 95125). Viewing to begin at 1:00 p.m., PST; services to be officiated by Fr. Michael Syjueco at 2:00 p.m., PST. Internment will immediately follow the services.
The Paeste family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the medical staff at Kaiser Permanente Hospital, San Jose CA, for the compassionate care they provided to Robert, and to all relatives and friends for the kind expressions of sympathy, love and support during our time of loss.
