

Ruth Q. Esquibel was known as many things to many people. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Ruth will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
Ruth was born on July 5, 1926. She was the daughter of Frank and Ramona Quezada. Ruth grew up in Greeley, Colorado.
Ruth was the beloved wife of Mike Esquibel for 71 years. They had two daughter whom they adored, Sallie and Elaine. She was a proud grandmother to six, Mike, Debbie, Ron, Clyde, Devin and Michelle. Loving great grandmother to Jimi, Kristi, Brooke, Drew, Tyler, Casey, Griffin, AJ, Paris and Josh. Proud great great grandmother to Bayla, Page, Jackson and Winter.
Ruth enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. Her favorite pursuits were collecting dolls and antiques. She was content to enjoy her favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share her interests with others.
Ruth was something of a sports fan and enjoyed following her favorite events whenever she had the chance to do so. Tops on her list were the Broncos and the San Fransico Giants.
Throughout her life, Ruth was a doer and was always actively involved in professional and community organizations. Throughout her later years, Ruth was an active member of the MDA - Hospice of the Valley raising funds.
Ruth enjoyed traveling and time away on vacations. It was a chance for her to renew and relax, to visit new places and experience new things. Favorite vacations included Reno and Thunder Valley.
Ruth was a lover of animals and cherished her pets. Her favorites were Poopsie, a Minpin dog, and Curley 1 and Curly 2, both Poodle dogs. They were best friends for 14 years (Poopsie), spoiling her like a baby. Her family was rounded out by her two poodles, Curley 1 and Curley 2.
When Ruth’s retirement finally arrived in 1996, she was well prepared. In retirement, she found new pleasure in bowling with family and friends. She organized a league "Family Fued" that is continued by grandchildren Michelle and Ronnie. Even in retirement, Ruth continued to stay in touch with her old friends while making plenty of new acquaintances. Ruth was active in her new community and felt fulfilled with the opportunities retirement offered her.
Ruth passed away peacefully on October 7, 2013 at her home in San Jose, California.
Simply stated, Ruth was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Ruth leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Ruth Q. Esquibel.
