Sal was born in San Jose, CA and graduated from Los Gatos High School in 1980. After serving his Country in the Air Force during six years of peacetime, he learned telecommunications and spent the majority of his employment years as a Field Tech/Manager with various Copier/Facsimile companies, including NEC, Banana Office Systems, Millennium Imaging Services and Arista.
However, the job Sal ended up enjoying most was being a driver for UBER. He loved the freedom of being in the outside world, meeting all sorts of interesting people and generally being someone who made someone else’s day better for his involvement in it.
Sal was also a computer genius who could trouble-shoot or build almost anything from scratch. His favorite hobby by far though, was computer gaming with nearly every sort of Medieval/Fantasy online Role-Playing game he could try, especially LOTR.
While Sal had no biological children, he always made sure to have a dog and cat or two on hand for loving and nurturing and devotedly considered himself to be an adopted father-figure to his housemate. Sal enjoyed Heavy Metal music and making mixes for all the holidays, plus various Jazz, Classical and Disney compilations, which he’d listen to for hours. He was also an enthusiastic Disneyphile in every way possible and truly considered Disneyland to be his Favorite Place on Earth. Sal leaves behind many wonderful friends and devoted family members who are devastated to have lost him way too soon.
Sal is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Karen Tricomo; his mother, G. Louise (Mertens) Yoshihara; his half-sister, Rosalie Sizelove; his step-mother, Angelina Tricomo; his step-brothers, Vince and Frank LoBono; and beloved housemate/pseudo-Son, Elijah Berry. Preceding him in death were his father, Francesco Tricomo and step-Father Henry Yoshihara. Surviving extended family groups and their spouses/children include the Vallelungas, Quarratos, Carusos, LoBonos, Whartons, Burkes and Sizeloves.
