

Sergio Pon Aragones, Sr. of San Jose CA passed away on the 24th of November 2021 at 5:04 a.m. at the age of 84. Born in the Philippines on August 12, 1937 to Camilo and Marcela Aragones. He was the eldest of six siblings.
Sergio Sr graduated from the University of the Philippines, Los Banos, with a degree in Agriculture. He came to the U.S. as an exchange student to help cross-breed tulips at the San Francisco Botanical Gardens. He met the love of his life, Lydia Ignacio, in San Francisco where they wed and started a family. He soon moved his young family to San Jose, California where he lived the rest of his life.
Sergio Sr. delved into several business opportunities and helped many families with his tax preparation services. He enjoyed social and dance events with his wife. He was once president of the US Chapter of the Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity. He was a devoted parishioner at the Most Holy Trinity Church where he served weekly as an usher. Anyone who knew Sergio Sr. was always touched by his friendly smile, humor, and willingness to help anyone in need.
Sergio Sr. is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lydia Aragones and four sons: Sergio married to Kathleen, Steven married to Terri, Sergie James married to Marianne, and Erwin, who lives in the Philippines. Sergio Sr. was a loving grandfather to ten grandchildren and adored great-grandfather of two. With extended families and an abundance of friends, he will be missed more than words can say.
