Shirley and I have been great friends ever since she and Frank moved in next door to us. We've had great times going to lunch, dinner and even on a cruise for her 50th anniversary to Frank. I could always count on her to cheer me up, listen to my trials and tribulations, and offer wonderful advice and insight. When my husband, Ronnie, passed away on September 1st, Shirley's house was the first place I went for comfort. I had no idea she would be gone too five days later!! I was so glad I went to see her on September 5th to tell her what a great friend she was, how much I loved her, and how much I would miss her. She was one in a million and I will never forget her. I look forward to spending time with her again in the future.

Sharing a memory of Shirley covers 50 yrs of my life. We met when our daughters wanted to join Girl Scouts. Make a long story short....a week after we signed up the girls, the leader quit. The Assistant leader said she would stay if I took over the troop....Shirley volunteered to be the Cookie Chairman. We had no one to visit the schools to organize the troops....Her Frank and my Chuck became the first male registered Girl Scouts in Santa Clara County!
They became Troop Organizers. And it was a wonderful beginning of our families united in Girl Scouts, Indian Guides, Gray Y, Y'smen, Y'sMennets. Camping, traveling, partying, Canasta games. She was the Yin to my Yang, she knew all my secrets and I knew hers. She was one of only two people who truly understood my craziness. And we could spend an evening just laughing, giggling, making up crazy stories, crazy ideas which sometimes drove our hubbies crazy. Before she passed, she told me she was going to
keep and eye on me and she will be waiting on her front porch for my arrival!
She did say....take your time, I am in no hurry. Just watching me from heaven will keep her occupied. I told her to watch out for the Jackalopes!!!!

Seeing Shirley, always with a smile on her face and a happy go lucky lady. Her Bunco friends and I will miss her dearly. It will never be the same without her.
Condolences to the family and may God guide them through their loss.
