

Sylvia Lapachet passed away peacefully on April 17th at the age of 84 with her family at her side. She was born in San Jose, CA on June 23rd 1940 to Elbert and Betty Smith and spent most of her life in Willow Glen. She was the youngest of three children. Her oldest brother, David Smith, resides in Reno, NV and her other brother, James Smith, lived in Penn Valley, CA and preceded her in death. Sylvia shared 35 wonderful years of marriage with Henry Lapachet before his passing. She is survived by her 4 sons whom she loved more than anyone – Ed (Traci), Scott (Tricia), John (Kimberly), and Jerry (Kelsey). She was known as Grammie to 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, all of whom she was so proud of; in loving memory of Ryder who preceded her in death. She loved her family and took great pride in continuing the family traditions. Along with hosting the holidays, Sylvia was an unparalleled hostess for various celebrations, bringing together family and friends alike. She was able to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable in her home with her unforgettable smile. Sylvia was the epitome of beauty and style, with a true passion for shopping and always looking her best. In her later years, Sylvia devoted her time volunteering at the Thrift Box in Willow Glen. She will be long remembered, and her spirit will live on in our hearts for eternity.
