Teresa Macias

Our beloved Teresa Macias passed away peacefully on June 21, 2016 in San Jose, CA. She was born October 18, 1919 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Petra and Bernardo Altamira. She grew up in Canadian, Texas where she later met and married her husband, Sostenes Macias. They had three sons; Sostenes Jr., Richard and Andres and made their home in Sacramento, California where she was a homemaker. Later she moved to San Jose and worked as a pre-school teacher at Tom Thumb Nursery School.

She loved caring for her family and grandchildren; as well as; crafts, sewing, gardening and camping. She devoted her life to her family.

Teresa was preceded in death by her husband, Sostenes, eldest son, Sostenes Jr., daughter-in-law, Gloria and brother, Andres Altamira. She is survived by her sister; Sabina Velasquez, two sons and their spouses; Richard (Maryellen), Andres (Anna); six grandchildren; Andre (Mary), Tiffany (Jason), Teresa (Joe), Lucy (Grant), Brandon (HaOne) and Mo; three great-grandchildren; Tessa, Jada, Wyatt, and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family.

Her loving and caring heart, and her love for life will never be forgotten. Friends are invited to attend Vigil Service 7:00 P.M. Monday, June 27, 2016 at Lima Family Erickson Memorial Chapel, 710 Willow Street, San Jose, CA, and Funeral Mass 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at St. Leo The Great Catholic Church, 88 Race Street, San Jose, CA with interment to follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park, San Jose, Ca.
