

Ted was born and raised in San Jose, California. He graduated from Lincoln High school. He served 4 years in the U.S. Navy and upon return was employed at the Ford Aerospace for 27 years before starting his career in funeral service. Ted retired from Willow Glen Funeral home after 30 years of respectfully serving the community.
Ted had many passions in life. He was proud of his Portuguese culture and had an incredible memory. He loved antique cars and driving around in his model T. He enjoyed traveling and going out to eat with cousins Mat and Kathy. He embodied his era and took pride in his Victorian Home. He loved yard and estate sales. He was vintage, dapper and had a great sense of humor.
He was a member of the Victorian Preservation Association; the Antique Auto Club and many Portuguese organizations.
Ted is survived by his siblings, Tim (Patsy) McKinney, Bill (Lyn) McKinney, David (Ingrid) McKinney and Anne Marie (Dick) Townsley; numerous cousins and friends. Ted will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family and friends are invited to gather Tues. January 7, 2025 beginning at 5pm at the Willow Glen Funeral Home 1039 Lincoln Ave. San Jose, Ca for visitation followed by rosary and sharing at 6pm. Mass the following morning Wed. January 8, 2025 at 10:00am at The Five Wounds Portuguese National Church 1375 E. Santa Clara St. San Jose, CA. Internment Oak Hill Memorial Park 300 Curtner Ave. San Jose, Ca.
