My heart felt sympathy for the family. As a fellow veteran, I salute your service to this nation in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. You have made a difference in this world and in the lives of others.

I'm thinking of you today where you should be in San Francisco for the ribbon cutting & celebration of the opening Military Intelligence Service Historic Learning Center.   I'm sure a tribute in your honor will be directed to you at this wonderful & long awaited event.

Thank you for your outstanding service to the USA.  

Enjoyed being on the flight with you to the Congressional Gold Medal ceremony in Washington, DC from San Jose, and hearing the retired Navy pilots acknowledge you from the cockpit and a few others veterans on our plane; and the immense applause, from the passengers who daily enjoy freedom.  

Thank you sir, you will never be forgotten.

The Board and Members of SV-MOAA, COL Sakamoto's local military officers' group, express our sincere condolences on his passing.  He was a welcome tablemate at luncheons and shared fantastic tales.  I remember his presentation to the entire group:  Complete with slides, he outlined his Army career from the Presidio, through the Pacific islands to the USS Missouri, and more.  He lived a full life and will be remembered by all.  His work for the Presidio Language Museum will be his legacy.
