Udell E Eby

Udell Elizabeth Eby passed away peacefully in her home on November 16, 2024, in San Jose, California at the age of 97. Udell was born on February 16,1927, in Great Falls, Montana to Robert and Florence Edmonds. In her early twenties Udell moved to the Santa Clara Valley. A resident of the Valley for more than 70 years, Udell married and raised her family; had a 20 year career as a Career Center Counselor and Library Technician for the East Side Union High School District; an active member of the East Valley Artists for over 40 years; an active member of the Alum Rock Covenant Church for over 25 years and later an active member of the Foothill Presbyterian Church for almost 20 years. Udell is survived by her daughters: Sharon Gregory and Nancy Zingheim; her sons-in-law: Ed Gregory and Curt Zingheim; her grandchildren: Scott (Stephanie) Zingheim, Tom (Yahsolait) Zingheim, Katie Zingheim, Leland Gregory, Laurel Gregory, and her four great grandchildren with the fifth on the way. Udell was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Florence, and her husband, Christian (Chris) Eby. After Chris’ passing in 1994, Udell continued to garden and entertain family and friends in the home that she loved and that held so many memories. Udell’s artistic eye found beauty in everything around her. An avid gardener and floral designer, Udell found joy in growing flowers and creating beautiful bouquets for her home, for friends, and for church.
