

Van Nhan Nguyen was granted his angel wings on February 20th 2013. Surrounded by family and friends whom he touch profoundly, Van faded into paradise courageously and peacefully at Valley Medical Hospital in San Jose, CA.
Like a true champion, Van bravely battled cancer and survived 3 months after diagnosis filled with fun, laughter and love. These final moment truly sums up how Van lived his entire life since his birth on February 1, 1986 at O'Conner Hospital in San Jose, CA.
Although Van left us too soon, the impact he leaves in the hearts of family and friends will not be forgotten. Those who were touched by his magnetic smile, kind heart, and brave soul understood that the quality of his life far exceeded the quantity of time in which he lived.
Van loved to compete in sports. He spent entire days on the diamonds of the Alum Rock Little League baseball team as a youth and spent hours after school on the gridirons of the Gunderson Grizzles and the Independence 76ers football team. His demeanor on the field sincerely portrayed his approach to life off it. Instinctively choosing empathy over selfishness, compassion over aggression and righteousness over prosperity.
Van is survived by his loving mother, Suong On; proud brothers: Trung, Lap, Thuyen, Andrew, Nhanh; beautiful sister, Jeana.
He was preceded in death by his noble father Chon Nguyen
