Vengsoune Chang, of San Jose, CA, passed away on June 1, 2025. In May 2023, he was diagnosed with stage 4 gall bladder cancer and given 6 months to live. However, through his strong will to survive, he toughed it out and was with us for 2 more years.
Vengsoune worked hard to immigrate his family from Laos, hoping to ensure a better future for all of them. One of the proudest things in his life was knowing that each of his children were able to live the “American Dream” and own their own homes.
He was the most resourceful man you will ever find, literally making one man’s trash his own treasure. There was never a problem that he couldn’t find a solution to, never a challenge that he would back down from.
He is survived by his wife, Khammy Chang; his four children, Steve Chang, Nancy Stone, Khamsay Marlow and Phaykham Talavera; and 9 grandchildren.
