

She was born on June 18, 1928 to James Otto Lee and Maude Alice Davis in Crawleyville, Indiana.
She married Ralph Eugene Gieselman on September 25, 1946 and they had three children, Ralph, Jr., Nancy, and Deborah. After Ralph’s passing in 1989, she married Douglas Vincent Pietrok on August 24, 1996.
While homemaking was her passion, in the late 1980s through the mid-1990s she worked at Partners International as a receptionist.
Vera was the quintessential homemaker, an expert seamstress, gardener, and crafter, and a collector of dolls, teddy bears, and keychains from around the globe. She loved to study God’s Word and was a leader in Bible Study Fellowship. She was active in service at First Baptist Church Women’s Auxiliary, White Cross missions, nursery coordination, and many other church activities. She loved to travel and hike, found solace the beach and Mt. Hermon, and was known for her delicious iced tea and warm and welcoming smile.
Vera is survived by her spouse Douglas Pietrok, brother James Lee, children Ralph, Jr., Nancy Sanchez-Kuntz, and Deborah Rigg, step-children Joshua Pietrok and Krista Hanvey, grandchildren Julie Doell, Tracy Hart, Esther Walde, Devin Rigg, Moses Sanchez, Tyler Rigg, Savannah Hanvey, Layla Hanvey, Atticus Hanvey, Piper Hanvey, Vincent Pietrok, and Vanessa Pietrok, great grandchildren Jenna Baggs, Cody Doell, Haley Hart, Cole Hart, Lynden Rigg, Gabriel Sanchez, and great, great granddaughter Hadley Baggs.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, and siblings Willard, Ronald, Iden, and Evelyn.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, May 27 at 3:00 pm at Church on the Hill in San Jose, California with Pastor Larry Wildemuth officiating.
