Victor passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 10, at the age of 69 at Valley Medical Center in San Jose. Victor was born in Gila River, Arizona, one of 10 World War II Relocation camps where 120,000 people of Japanese heritage were sent during the war. Victor lived most of his life in Santa Clara County, graduating from Buchser High School in 1962. He was the son of the late George Shigeki Kato and the late Kaoru Kay Kato and the brother of Joyce Iwasaki (the late K. Edward Iwasaki). He is also survived by nieces, Adele Iwasaki and Alexis Iwasaki Honma (Shin Honma) and one grandnephew.
The memorial service is scheduled for 3:00 pm Monday, Nov. 24 at the Wesley United Methodist Church, 566 North Fifth Street, San Jose.
