Wilda was preceded in death by her brother-in-law Kenneth Masunaga, brothers Roger, Kenneth, Lawrence, Jimmy Slaven and sister Betty (James) Fitsgerald. Wilda is survived by her husband Gary Masunaga, sister-in-law Leslie Masunaga, brother Clifford Slaven and sister Donna (Bobby) Meece.
Wilda was an avid hiker and loved to hike the local paths with friends and always had at least one hike planned per week. She also loved to go on hiking tours – she enjoyed the trails of Glacier National Park, Bryce & Zion National Parks, and her favorite, Yosemite. She was proud to be able to hike up to Yosemite’s Half-Dome and down the Grand Canyon to Phantom Ranch.
Wilda loved to travel, whether by plane, ship or bicycle. She had traveled as far south as Australia/New Zealand and as far north as Denali National Park in Alaska. Sailed the Mediterranean Sea, thru the Panama Canal and the rivers of Europe from Amsterdam to Budapest. She biked the Canadian Rockies, the Big Island of Hawaii and France’s Loire Valley.
Wilda always enjoyed fine wine and good food, especially with the company of her friends. Would love to go out with her friends, especially to celebrate birthdays. She was fond of the wineries in the Napa, Sonoma and Paso Robles regions and would go wine tasting with her friends.
Wilda had a great and infectious laugh, a joy of life, and deeply loved her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by many.
