William McCarty

He is survived by his wife Mercedes, daughter Deborah, son David ( Janet ), sister-in-law Beverly, niece Ann ( Cort and son Teo ), nephew Eric ( Susan and son Eric ).

He is also survived by his step-daughter Laurie ( Rick ), granddaughters Marisa and Olivia, step-son Steve ( Ann ), grandsons Kenneth ( Ali ) and Michael.

Bill graduated from Colorado A&M with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He also participated in the University’s ROTC program. After college, Bill served in the United States Army as a 1st Lieutenant, Signal Corps. Upon completion of his service in the United States Army, Bill began his Engineering career with AT&T.

Bill enjoyed many hobbies though the years: astronomy, sailing, photography, gardening, volunteering with the YMCA, square dancing, and following the San Jose Sharks & Dallas Stars.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, July 25th at 10:00am at Oak Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park. San Jose CA. Bill is inurned at Oak Hill Memorial Park next to his first wife Ruth Dillner McCarty, who preceded him in death.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Lowell Observatory, Flagstaff AZ.
