Willmar “Bill” Estes passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 27, 2019. He was born in Lamesa, Texas on July 7, 1926 and grew up in Mason, Texas before moving to California in his early twenties to work in the ranching industry. During this time, he met his wife Rose Patricia (Quartararo) Estes. They were married for over 50 years until her death in 2001. He worked at Specialty Truck Parts for most of his career and in later retirement he enjoyed volunteering for The Cost of Courage Foundation in support of military Veterans where he was Volunteer of the Year two years in a row in 2106 and 2017. In honor of his dedication, the award was re-named the “Bill “Papa” Estes Volunteer of the Year Award” in 2018. He is survived by three children: Don Estes, Bob Estes and Betty Green. He was a proud Papa to 10 grandkids and “Big Papa” to 15 great-grandkids. He is also survived by a large family that still resides in Texas. His service will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery on Monday, September 9th at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of the Roses. Luncheon Reception to follow.
