Yoneko Hatanaka Yonemura

Entered into rest at home in San Jose, CA surrounded by family on April 10, 2022, at the age of 94. Born on January 2, 1928 in Osaka, Japan and emigrated to the United States in 1962. Beloved wife of the late Raymond S. Yonemura. Loving mother of James K. Yonemura and Alan T. Yonemura of San Jose and Susan S. Yonemura of Fort Collins, CO. Preceded in death by her father, mother, and four siblings. Aunt to many nieces and nephews.

A longtime member of Seicho-No-Ie, a faith that emphasizes gratitude for nature and family. A volunteer and later recipient of services at the Yu-Ai Kai Senior Center. She enjoyed gardening, flower arranging, and travel. A meticulous caretaker throughout her life as a domestic aide, as a mother, as a devoted wife shepherding her husband through a long illness. The family would like to thank her nurse Oksana and home health aide Ada of Sequoia Hospice for the care and comfort they provided to her in her final weeks of life.

Following a private service, visitations will be held from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM Thursday, April 21 at Oak Hill Memorial Park, 300 Curtner Avenue, San Jose, CA. A graveside memorial service will be held on May 7th at 11:00 AM.
