I am so sorry to hear that Yuji passed, and so long ago.  We were not active friends, but he was a classmate of mine that I will never forget.  He was one of the people I looked forward to seeing the most when attending class reunions, which is why I just learned of this.  This would have been his 40 year class reunion which it appears I again won't be able to attend, but just know that Yuji's memory is alive and well in this brain.  I can see his smile as he walks across the room to greet me.  His time came too soon, but I'll never forget him.  My condolences, although late, to anybody who reads this.

Dear Honma family,
I was shocked and saddened to hear Yuji's name read tonight at my father-in-law's Hatsubon service in San Jose. I'm so sorry for your loss.  I hadn't seen him since YBA in high school but remember him as a gentle and nice boy with a terrific smile.  I noticed that he passed on the same exact day that my own mother died.  Two good people taken at the same time.

My deepest condolences to the Honma family, Yuji was a terrific friend and roommate.  Yuji was also one of the kindest, most generous and loyal souls I've ever met.  He influenced so many of our lives in positive ways and will truly be missed.

Thoughts and prayers to the family. Yuji is one of the kindest and most gentle people I've ever known. He will truly be missed.
