Yvonne Marie Pine

Yvonne fell asleep peacefully and woke up in the arms of the Lord at age 72 after having been diagnosed with a rare inherited and incurable disease. She graduated from Notre Dame High School in San Jose, Class of 1957. She and her surviving spouse, V. Ron Pine, met on the bus in September 1953 on their first day of high school and have been together ever since, having married in 1960, a marriage of 52 years.

She is survived by her three sons Kevin (Cindy) of Fresno, CA., Craig (Paula) of San Jose, CA, and Jeff(Mollie) also of San Jose, CA. She loved and adored all of her 8 grandchildren, Taylor, Justin, Blake, Jordan, Katrina, Alicia, Chyresse (Chirs) of Sacramento, CA and Jill(Dan) of Richland, WA. and her two great grandchildren Jacob and Edward. She is also survived by her sister, Arlene Casolary of Berryessa, CA. and preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Mize Liebelt.

Her entire life was dedicated to her family as a Room Mother at St.Christopher parochial grammar school or in the snack shack at many Little League games. She especially loved her volunteer time at Bellarmine College Preparatory for the years all three of her sons attended. She was her sons' biggest cheerleader at all of their athletic activities in grammar school and high school. She was the consummate mother and grandmother! For many years Yvonne enjoyed taking each of her grandchildren for one-on-one time with "Grammy" on a shopping spree on each one's birthday and again at Christmas. Her favorite holiday was Easter Sunday, having all the grandchildren over on Good Friday evening for dinner, Easter egg coloring and banana splits. She loved planting her Spring flowers early so they would have a beautiful garden in which to hide and find the eggs.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Thursday, March 29, 2012 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Lima Family Mortuary, 710 Willow Street, San Jose, Ca. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 30, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Christopher's Catholic Church,1576 Curtner Ave, San Jose, CA. Internment will follow at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery in Santa Clara,CA.
