Rest in peace abuelita. I will always love and miss you. I know we didn't see you often, thank goodness for technology so I was able to face time you when papi was there. I will always cherish my childhood memories of you when you lived in Bushwick. You were a great abuelita. I will tell my kids how great of a woman you were and how lucky I was to have an abuelita like you. Love you.

My beautiful buelita, your negrita will miss you.  I spent almost every summer when I was in my teens and early 20’s in Puerto Rico. I made sure I saw you every time, we would swing on the maca and talk and laugh and you would make my favorite foods.  I’m grateful that I got to see you, hug you, kiss you and talk with you just 2 weeks ago.  You will be forever missed and in my heart. Thank you for being my buelita.

Abuelita,  I'm so sad that you are longer with us but I will always have beautiful memories of you in my life. All the time I spent with you on Jefferson St.  All the love you showed me will never be forgotten.  I was so happy to see you when I came home from the hospital after my back surgery and the big hug and kiss you gave me and you told me that everything was going to be ok and that God would make sure that I was going to be good. I am so blessed to have had a grandmother so loving as you. I'm so happy that you were able to meet my children and showed them love like only a grandmother knows how to give. You will be missed. I’ll never forget the transformative summer I spent with you. Being with you gave me a boost in self-confidence, you were complementary and kind. 
I’ll always remember that because of a hurricane me and my new husband ended up at your house on our honeymoon and you opened the doors to your home to host us. How glad you were to have us. How fortunate for us that you are an important part of those happy memories. 
I’ll never forget your irreverent sense of humor, your quick temper, your kind, warm hospitality, how you loved feeding people exactly what thy wanted, your glamorous high cheekbones, how you’d like to stay up and socialize and deny you were falling asleep, your red nail polish…you.
