OBITUARY
Cameron Neil Tracy
September 4, 1976 – March 1, 2021
Alameda County Sheriff’s Deputy Cameron Neil Tracy, age 44, passed away suddenly from an unknown cause on March 1, 2021 in Alameda, California. Deputy Tracy was born September 4, 1976 to Roger Alan Tracy and Linda Kay Tracy at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Torrance, California. Cameron served his country in the United States Marine Corps from February 1999 to January 2003. He had many life-changing experiences traveling with the Corps to Australia, Bali, Thailand, Okinawa and Hawaii, where he finished his duty. Cameron was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant and returned home to continue in service to his community in a career in law enforcement. From 2005 to 2010 Cameron as a Deputy Sheriff with the Allegan County, MI, Sheriff's Office, then as a Police Officer with the Fruitport Charter Township, MI, Police Department. Cameron was hired with the Alameda County Sheriff's Department in December 2010, where his service was marked with numerous letters of recognition and appreciation from his superiors. Deputy Tracy was a keen marksman and was "Top Gun" in the 146th ACSO police academy, where he met his future wife and the love of his life, Camille Lingley Tracy. Deputy Tracy was recently chosen for a position in Classification at the Santa Rita Jail, a transfer that he wanted so very much. He was very well liked and respected by his peers and superiors. He always went above and beyond for his team. Deputy Tracy is survived by his wife, Camille Lingley Tracy, and his mother, Linda Tracy Kreiss his stepfather Daniel Kreiss, stepsister Elaine Kreiss Mendenhall, stepbrothers Paul and Kevin Kreiss, his Uncle and Aunt Jon and Marilyn Brower, and cousins Dan, David and Stephen Brower, along with many other relatives. Deputy Tracy was preceded in death by his father, Roger Alan Tracy. Cameron will be interred at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery. I served with Cameron in Force Lima Company, 3rd Battalion 3rd Marines in Hawaii. Though we were not in the same platoon our company was very tight, and I offer my sincere condolences.
