Carmen Maldonado July 6, 1928 - July 9, 2010 Lifetime resident of San Leandro Passed away peacefully at age 82 with her three daughters by her side, at Kaiser Hospital, Hayward from heart complications. She was born to the late Manuel and Alice Alga on July 6, 1928 in San Leandro. She attended San Leandro High School and prior to marrying and having children worked at Friden Corporation in San Leandro. She married the late Thomas Maldonado on September 16, 1951. They were married for 58 years. After giving birth to three daughters, she retired and became a full time mother and homemaker, dedicating the rest of her life to caring for her family. She is survived by her three daughters, Nancy Cancilla-Cappione, Janice Maldonado and Alison Jack, son-in-law Sam Cappione and future son-in-law Alan Sandoval. Seven grandchildren, Aleece and Joseph Cancilla, Sam Cappione III, Taylor Stewart, Haleigh, TJ and Hannah Jack, two sisters, Mary Nunes and Margaret Reberiego, a sister-in-law Donna Maldonado and many nieces and nephews and a family that loved her dearly. Preceding her in death was her loving husband of 58 years, Thomas Maldonado, five brothers, Frank, Joe, Manuel, "Buckey", Tony and Johnny Alga, three sisters, Rose Gonzales, Ruby Dominguez and Emily Dominguez-Bras as well as a brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws. Carmen was a great wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will truly be missed by all that knew her. A viewing will be held on Tuesday July 13 at 5:00 pm followed by a vigil at 7:00 pm.
