Edward Gallagher

Edward J. Gallagher Born in San Francisco on February 9, 1927, Ed passed away unexpectedly at his home in San Rafael on September 7, 2011. He graduated from St. Ignatius H.S. in 1945 and, after serving in the army, graduated from the University of San Francisco in 1951. He worked as an accountant for 38 years at the DiGiorgio, Corp. in San Francisco. After moving his family to San Rafael in 1966, he was active in his church and loved coaching little league, playing golf, gardening, and rooting for the Giants and 49ers. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Shirley, his children, Ann Marie (Paul Martinson) Gallagher, Ed (Stephanie) Gallagher, Janet (Tom) Vaughan, and Jim (Peggie) Gallagher, and seven grandchildren whom he adored. Ed leaves behind his brothers Jack and Steve Gallagher, his sister Pat Sanguinetti, and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a favorite charity. Funeral services will be held at St. Isabella Catholic Church (1 Trinity Way, San Rafael, CA 94903) on Friday, September 16th at 11:00 AM. Please wear bright colors.
