Elmese A. Bell was born to Mary and Chofield Allen in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on July 22, 1924. Elmese was raised in Baton Rouge and graduated from McKinley High School. During World War II she moved to Marin City and worked for Standard Oil.
On October 10, 1945 Elmese Allen married Joseph H. Bell and started a family.
She began her career in 1957 as a U.S. Postal Clerk in Marin City and retired in August 1984 from the Sausalito USPS.
She was a long time member of First Missionary Baptist Church and a founding member of Village Baptist Church. She was a member of the Marin City Womens Auxiliary and an enthusiastic shopper. She always remembered friends and family by letters and cards. She was an avid baseball fan,supporting both Little League and Giants baseball.
Elmese Allen Bell is survived by her husband , Joseph H. Bell; three sons, Tami A. Bell, Kevin R. Bell and Justin A. Bell; four grand children, Lamar D. Bell, Sarah K. Batiste, Nehemiah F. Bell and Khalifah J. Bell. She is also survived by three great grand children and host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that will truly miss her.
