

Fedora Barbera Taormina, 82, of San Rafael, CA passed peacefully at her home on June 11, 2014. She was born in San Francisco, California on July 25, 1931 to Antonio and Rose Barbera. After graduating from Galileo High School in 1949, she went to work for Pacific Telephone and Telegraph where she was employed as a service representative for eight years. In the spring of 1956, Fedora met Sam, the love and joy of her life, and they were married in October of that same year. She lived in North Beach prior to moving to Visitacion Valley, where she was an active parishioner of Church of the Visitacion for 30 years. Fedora lived in San Rafael for the past 25 years and enjoyed being a parishioner of St. Isabella Church. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother, whose greatest treasure was her family. Fedora is survived by her children Rosanne (Dan) Piccinini, Salvatore Taormina, Anthony (Elizabeth) Taormina, Carolyn (Steve) Boyce, grandchildren Danielle, Julia, Joseph, Annalisa, Francesca, Nicholas, Mario, Kate, Meghan and brother Mario (Shirley) Barbera. Fedora was preceded in death, seven months ago, by her beloved husband, Sam. They are now dancing together in Heaven! We will miss her deeply, and she will be in our hearts forever. A vigil will be held on Wednesday, June 18 at 7:00 pm at St. Isabella Church in San Rafael and a Mass of the Resurrection will follow on Thursday, June 19 at 10:30 am at St. Isabella Church.
