Howard A. Pohle
October 17, 1932 – April 3, 2013
Howard Anthony Pohle Howard was born on October 17, 1932 in Bayonne, New Jersey and passed away unexpectedly and peacefully on April 3, 2013. After attending Bayonne Technical High School, he enlisted in the Marine Corps and served honorably. As a young Marine, he met his true love Laura Camille Nalducci in San Francisco. They were soon married in 1952 and started their family. Howard and Laura made their home in Corte Madera. They were married for 52 years before Laura passed away in 2004. Howard enjoyed traveling, visiting his daughters and family in Europe, cooking meals for his family and volunteered at Image for Success. He avidly followed Bay Area sports. You could find him at Golden Gate Fields enjoying the horse races, especially on Sundays (Dollar Days). For many years he managed Marin Wine & Spirits in Terra Linda and developed many relationships within the community. Howard's sisters Helen and Clara predeceased him. He is survived by his sisters Florence and Emily; children Peter James (Lorna), Linda Carol (Bruce), Michelle Ann (Lou) and Suzanne Marie (Fred); six grandchildren (Julia, Krissy, Kenny, Radley, Ian and Jack). He will be missed very much by all. Private services were held. Memorial contributions may be made to The Okizu Foundation, 16 Digital Drive, Suite 130, Novato, CA 94949; www.Okizu.org. The Okizu Foundation provides family camping experiences for children with terminal illnesses.
